Medical women

The 1914 expectation that the war would be 'over by Christmas' led to a massive underestimation in the requirements for medical services.  But, by 1918 thousands of women were serving in vital medical services across all the war fronts.  In this presentation Viv tells an audience of Western Front Association members about some of these Medical Women's extraordinary wartime lives.  The talk lasts just under an hour.

Many thanks to the Essex branch of the Western Front Association for this invitation.
